Bro. Renato Valdellon
Renato graduated with a BA in Philosophy from Makati's San Carlos Seminary. He taught full-time for six years at the currently called Polytechnic University of the Philippines; after which he went to the United States where he has since lived up to the present. Renato started and maintains the Catholic faith website "Balik Sa Panginoon". More than anything else, Renato personally believes it to be God's foreordained mandate that he applies himself, albeit his life, dedicatedly at the maximum exploiting of the internet for the work of Gospel evangelization -- even with just a few partners-evangelizers, and notwithstanding his modest God-given intelligence & family resource. Principally, however, he relies upon the marvels of grace as the sole power and strength which have kept, and continually will keep the Balik Sa Panginoon faith website alive.
Bro. Raul Roque
Among very special people who bring pride & honor, and have rendered unselfish service to the cause of Paete is one true-blooded Paetenian and Catholic: Raul Roque. He is also a very special friend and morale support behind the Balik Sa Panginoon site. Whereas appropriate words are always hard to come by let it be my privileged pleasure and honor to recognize in some distinct manner the religious literary sharing done in faith and, thus, by the grace of God, by our very dear friend, Raul Roque.
First, Raul’s article on the Paetenian "sakristans", altar boys, or as his favorite phrase, the "Knights of the Altar". It is featured as the initial article of our Balik Sa Panginoon web pages, the Special Features' article with the title, ‘Once A Knight, Always A Knight’.
I am not going to paraphrase the article as reading his article on Paetenians Sakristans is the more authentic way of reliving his memoirs of the Knights of the Altar as founded by the late Rev. Fr. Raymund Grundtner, later majorly guided by Rev. Fr. James Ferry, and as it had grown and become a local tradition among Paetenians youths of the St. James Parish in Paete Laguna Philippines.
I am not going to even mention names involved in that revered youngsters organization of the Parish of St. James lest I cite names out of the context Raul has placed them within the history of the Knights of the Altar.
Although, with his fond regard for the local Paete basketball teams, the Navigators and the original Knights Basketball team, I feel obliged to make reference to his associating between the entity, the Knights of the Altar and the entities of his beloved team, the Champion Navigators as well as the Champion original Knights Basketball Team. And indeed all members of both the original Knights Basketball Team and the Navigators were members of the parish Altar Boys/Servers, the Knights of the Altar. (Although not all members of the Knights of the Altar were members of the two prominent local basketball teams.)
Aurel Cagahastian,(Batang Patio)
Aurel has passed away; but his vernacular writings most often treat of things heavenly, moral, and of and about our God. His contributions are poems written in Tagalog found under the navigation site: Special Features. All his poems are under the link title:
